Clinical Supervision
Clinical Supervision
Clinical supervision is not only a mandated part of the licensing process in Pennsylvania, it is essential to learning how to navigate through the world as a new therapist. I want to help you become the best therapist you can be, by discovering your strengths and limitations and helping you grow from there.
Supervision supports new clinicians by offering oversight and support from someone more experienced. I believe supervisors are the guardians to our profession and it is our responsibility to build you up to the best next generation of therapists you can be. This relationship should impact your professional and personal development for years to come.

As a supervisor, I offer a safe space for learning and growth for both of us to honestly evaluate your work performance and counseling skills to build comfort as a competent, independent clinician. I help you build a professional identity and explore ethics and best practices. We will engage in case reviews, skill development, and evaluation of personal characteristics that impact treatment through collaborative problem solving and support.
As your supervisor, I serve as teacher, consultant, mentor and evaluator. This process may include:
I will support you in taking the risk of trying those new ideas and methods to enable yourself to grow clinically. Supervision is also the time to address issues, such as counter transference, that affect your work.
As a consultant, I offer that same safe space for learning and growth around counseling skills to continue your development as a competent, independent clinician, but without the on-going evaluation aspect you have already completed. Consultation focused on case conceptualization typically regards:
Consultation focused on career advancement typically regards:
but can certainly focus on other professional needs you may seek consultation on.

I wouldn't be where I am today
"Crystal was my supervisor and did my supervision for my license. Her knowledge and approach to counseling is amazing. The skills she taught me while under her supervision will forever be apart of my counseling approach. Her insight, leadership, and listening ear made my supervision and first mental health counseling experience one that I will forever be grateful for. If it weren’t for Crystal’s encouragement and support, I wouldn’t be where I am today as a counselor. I would definitely recommend her."
